About the Role
We are seeking a Manager of Application Development to lead a team of Symitar Core Developers in designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade applications and integrations for our credit union systems. This is a strategic leadership role focused on enabling technology innovation across the core banking platform and vendor-packaged solutions.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on technical experience with financial institution platforms (Jack Henry suite), as well as a strong background in people leadership, agile delivery, and IT governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of application developers across multiple scrum teams and business lines.
- Oversee design, development, integration, and delivery of enterprise applications and banking systems.
- Partner with PMO and business stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and delivery timelines.
- Promote a collaborative team culture focused on continuous learning, innovation, and quality.
- Review design patterns, code quality, and compliance with security and development standards.
- Drive process improvements in application development and management.
- Work closely with third-party vendors to implement and support integrated solutions.
- Remain current with vendor roadmaps to influence long-term technology strategy.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 6 years of experience working with banking and credit union technologies such as:
- Jack Henry (Symitar, Synapsys, Synergy, SymXchange, ARCU)
- MeridianLink, Encompass, Alkami, OpCon, Image Center
- Proven experience with software development methodologies, version control systems, and testing practices.
- Demonstrated leadership and people management skills with the ability to mentor and motivate teams.
- Experience working with agile and iterative project methodologies
- Ability to influence executive stakeholders and align technical efforts with business goals.
Preferred Qualifications
- MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering.
- Hands-on development experience with Symitar/PowerOn/RepGen
- Proficiency with SQL, HTML, JavaScript
- Familiarity with IBM AIXITIL framework, and engineering process implementations.
