The job opportunity Are you ready to take your technical career to the next level? We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Application Developer to join our team as a trusted expert in application design, development, support and enhancement of statewide/enterprise .NET financial, legislative and human resource applications. You will provide professional information technology consultation and development services in support of agency mission critical applications which are used by the State of Washington and may support COTS and SaaS applications depending on the technology selected for the business solution. Duties What you will work on - Develop, deploy, test, debug, document, and implement code for both existing and custom applications, components, and web services. Utilize industry and agency-standard development tools and frameworks to support statewide accounting and financial systems.
- Work closely with System Analysts to resolve issues reported by customers for the accounting server and web-based applications.
- Use application lifecycle management (ALM) tools correctly to document and manage application source code and link work to system requirements. Process improvement strategies and present technical solutions to facilitate those improvements.
- Use different software development methods and tools to integrate and support COTS or SaaS solutions.
- Use tools, platforms and technologies to build solutions (i.e. Microsoft .NET, Transact SQL, JavaScript, Angular, MVC).
- Use design methodologies to write code that is reusable, scalable, and extensible.
- Work within requirements to meet assignment goals and objectives in a timely and accurate manner.
- Support, and maintain applications (including production calls/issues) - make code and data changes as necessary.
- Work closely with System Analysts to resolve issues reported by customers for the accounting server and web-based applications.
- Research, understand and proposes potential adoption of emerging technologies; recommend best practices and present those to development teams and supporting groups.
- Provide leadership, training, and transfer of knowledge to other team members through in-person and written communications.
- Collaborate with other system developers in resolving complex technical issues.
Qualifications What we need you to bring Required Qualifications: - Eight (8) years of recent professional IT experience, that may include but not limited to:
- Developing and enhancing applications using Visual Studio, C , VB.Net,
- Developing web applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ASP.NET, MVC, JQuery, XML
- Writing and accessing database code using T-SQL, stored procedures, and Entity Framework
- Performing unit testing
- Applying development standards in a managed environment
- Working knowledge of disciplines (i.e. Business Analysis, Project Management, Data Management, or Systems Administration) as part of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic techniques to resolve application or data issues
- Bachelors degree or certificate in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Additional two years of relevant professional experience may substitute for the educational requirement.
Desired Qualifications: - Working knowledge of developing and enhancing applications:
- Angular, NGRX, RXJS, SCSS, .NET Core, Web API, and Node.
