Application Administrator

Job Description

Insight Global is hiring a hands-on Application Administrator to join a technical powerhouse in San Diego. The day-to-day will include receiving tasks via ServiceNow or Jira with the expectation of processing 5-6 incidents per shift using AWS and IIS servers. The daily breakdown to expect is 30% configuration and performance changes while 60% of the day will be spent working with users to debug issues. Work will also include modification of python, shell, or Terraform scripts provided from vendor to fit this environment. The clients current environment includes AWS services: currently using MySQL DB, Aurora, EMR cluster, EKS cluster, Lambda functions, S3 buckets, load balancers for microservices (APIs) and UIs, AWS Sequence managers, automated AMI updates and EC2s. A personality of taking initiative, self-starter mentality, and clear communication is required to succeed in this fast-paced environment.

Compensation: $50-90/hour

Skills and Requirements

4+ years IIS web server administration including hosting enterprise applications on IIS, fine tuning them, deploying in a high availability mode and making sure monitoring is set up

4+ years of AWS experience how to work with VTS, subnets, set up infrastructure to deploy an application, then automate the app install with Terraform. Manual aspects will include establishing connectivity, working with access + security, end point encryption, etc. Infrastructure needs to be automated after that

2+ years experience modifying Terraform scripts null
