This position will be part of the Enterprise Services team, which delivers a full suite of services to state agencies, boards, councils, and commissions, and many central services to local government partners.
Job Summary
As an Application Administrator you will provide advanced technical support and complex problem resolution involving overall system problems, needs, and new requirements. This position is responsible for several applications within MNIT Services. You will act as the liaison between SME's (Vendors, DB, Middleware, Firewall, Network, etc.) and serve as the primary support contact for applications. You will also support on premise environments, vendor hosted, and cloud-based applications. As part of the application development, this position will also provide application administration, code versioning, and documentation.
This position requires an employee to be onsite in St. Paul, Minnesota at least 50% of the time, with some opportunity to perform work from a telework location.

Minimum Qualifications

Position requires a minimum of three (3) years of IT related experience in application administration on Windows Desktop and Linux.
Experience must include:
• Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties.
• Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.
• Experience Administrating, monitoring, and troubleshooting distributed applications running on Windows Desktops, and Linux.
• General knowledge related to accessibility, usability, and security.
• Strong attention to detail and time-management skills, with the ability to solve complex, system-wide problems independently. A master's degree in Information Technology or an IT related field substitutes for three (3) years of experience, OR an IT related bachelor's degree substitutes for two (2) years, OR an IT related associate's degree substitutes for one (1) year.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience administrating, monitoring, and troubleshooting distributed applications running on Windows Desktops, Linux , and Mainframe.
• Experience creating user and system documentation.
• Experience working with and maintaining a code repository.
• Strong attention to detail and time-management skills, with the ability to solve complex, system-wide problems independently.
• Proven ability to organize, plan, monitor, and coordinate multiple complex initiatives while adhering to technical and business requirements.
• Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.
• Experience with PowerShell for Windows
• Experience with Job Control Language (JCL) for the Mainframe
• Experience with Shell Scripting for Linux Additional Requirements
