In Visual Intelligence Technology team, we work hard to bring the best user experiences powered by Apple Intelligence. We leverage cutting-edge technologies like Visual Search and LLM to empower user-facing features like Visual Look-up and Visual Intelligence in camera and photos. As part of this group, you will be doing large scale machine learning and deep learning to improve Query Understanding and Ranking of search and developing fundamental building blocks needed for Artificial Intelligence. This involves developing sophisticated machine learning models, using word embeddings and deep learning to understand the quality of matches, online learning to react quickly to change, and natural language processing to understand queries.

Minimum Qualifications

1. MS or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Information Retrieval, Data Science or related field
2. 7+ years of experience in machine learning, deep learning, information retrieval, natural language processing or data mining
3. 5+ years of experience of prompt engineering, fine-tuning, evaluating, and developing data collection/annotation/management tooling for LLMs
4. Experience being a tech lead, and has been successfully leading a team to ship software to users
5. Excellent knowledge and good practical skills in designing ML platforms, architectures or algorithms
6. Strong interpersonal skills able to work independently as well as in a team

Key Qualifications

1. Experience with optimizing performance on resource constrained devices
2. Experience with relevant deep learning software packages (Keras, Tensorflow, PyTorch )
3. Experience with graphics development: OpenGL, Metal, Vulcan or neural engine integration/optimization
4. Experience with OpenGL and/or OpenCL programming
