Position Overview
Stila Cosmetics is a west coast-based consumer cosmetics company with an executive office on the east coast. We are seeking an experienced AP / AR Specialist for our Glendale, CA office. The successful candidate will be a strong team player with excellent customer service skills who can support our accounts payable and receivable teams. The person will periodically alternate between AP and AR, be deadline oriented and have the ability to manage large volumes of transactions accurately.
Primary Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable
Process vendor invoices including three-way matching.
Obtain approvals and accurately code invoices into the system.
Process pay-runs ensuring timeliness of payments to vendors.
Review aging reports and vendor accounts for accuracy.
Respond to vendor and internal inquiries and resolve issues.
Assist outside auditors.
Organize and maintain digital and physical documents for easy retrieval and audits.
Perform other duties as required to support the Finance department.
Accounts Receivable
Daily posting of sales invoices, cash receipts, credits and returns.
Reconcile payments with accounting records to ensure accuracy.
Send invoices and statements to customers.
Monitor outstanding receivables and address as necessary.
Payment collection and dispute resolution
Customer management and credit approval
State sales tax returns as needed.
Desired Skills and Experience
• 3 - 5 years of experience in Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable
• Basic accounting knowledge and ability to use Excel is a strong plus.
Beauty industry experience is a strong plus.
Microsoft Dynamics (Great Plains) ERP experience a strong plus.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
