The Minneapolis VA Health Care System is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Anesthesiologist to join our expanding clinical practice with a close academic affiliation with the University of Minnesota, including Department of Anesthesiology Residency and the School of Nurse Anesthesia. The Minneapolis VAMC provides cutting-edge surgical care to Veterans ranging from common outpatient procedures to complex cardiovascular, thoracic, general surgical, ENT, urologic, orthopedic, plastic and reconstructive, and gynecologic surgery. The successful applicant must have significant recent experience in cardiac anesthesia and experience teaching residents, and be eligible for an academic appointment with the University of Minnesota.
Duties and Responsibilities- clinical and on-call coverage, supervision and training of anesthesia residents, supervision of nurse anesthetists and student nurse anesthetists, and teaching.VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package.

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.
Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
