Anesthesiology Physician

Job Title: Anesthesiologist
Location: Iowa City, IA 52242
Duration: 12+ months to long term
Shift available : 09:00am-05:00pm (Mon Fri)
Hours/week: 40 hr./ week

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Proposed physicians must not have a history of legal issues related to their clinical practice which would preclude their ability to be approved for hospital privileges at UIHC.

• Supervision of Trainees: Candidates should have experience in mentoring and supervising medical trainees, including residents and SRNAs.

• On occasion, individuals trained outside of the United States and who are certified by an equivalent national certification group (e.g. the Royal College of Anesthetist of Canada, Australia, Ireland, or Great Britain) may be considered if they possess unique skills and/or experience, and are eligible for an Iowa Medical License.

• Collaboration with CRNAs: Candidates must be adept at working collaboratively with Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs), fostering a team-oriented environment to deliver high-quality patient care.

• Independent Practice: Candidates should be capable of working independently, managing anesthesia care without direct supervision, and making critical decisions in high-pressure situation.

• Experience in placing various lines.

Education:
MD, DO, MBBS, or equivalent.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Fellowship training or equivalent clinical experience in any of the subspecialty areas listed in Attribute .

• Interest in teaching and/or basic or clinical research.

• Ultrasound-Guided Procedures: Candidates should be proficient in using ultrasound technology for performing nerve blocks and placing invasive lines.

Requirements:

• Successful completion of an approved residency training program in Anesthesiology.

• Must be eligible for licensure in the State of Iowa.

• Must be certified by the American Board of Anesthesiologists or be in the certification process.
