Job Details Description
The Analytical Chemist II will have essential duties and functions including testing and quality control for the release of materials and/or products.
What You Will Do
• Performs routing testing on samples in a timely manner, tracks and meets assigned testing deadlines; notifies supervisor of problems meeting scheduled testing deadlines; records results in computerized data system.
• Notifies supervisor promptly of unexpected test results; problem solves with minimal supervision; records results in a computerized system on a regular basis.
• Performs maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting of assigned equipment and systems to meet testing deadlines; ensures all equipment and systems are operating within established calibration guidelines; notifies supervisor promptly of calibration failures and repair needs.
• Complies with company policies and all applicable SOPs; complies with ISO 17025, cGMPs, cGLPs A2LA requirements and Quality Control Guidelines
• Maintains familiarity on use of all applicable equipment, systems, and procedures (SOPs)
• Stays abreast of current technology and instruments, with strong emphasis on HPLC analytical chemistry applications in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Aids in all workstations as required and assists in back up support of all laboratory workstations as required.
• Maintains current and accurate documentation.
• Writes, revises, and reviews SOPs in a timely manner as required.
• Complies with company policies and all applicable SOPs; complies with ISO 17025, cGMPs, cGLPs and Quality Control Guidelines
• Assists with laboratory compliance audits and laboratory safety audits as required.
• Maintains clean, orderly, and safe laboratory work area; maintains own safety.
• Participates in team discussions and assists in achieving team goals.
• Provide review of analytical chemist documentation and assist with problem solving.
• Performs all other duties as required.
Who You Are
• Master's degree in analytical chemistry or bachelor's degree in analytical chemistry including at least 12 semester hours of hands-on laboratory courses in chemistry.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in an analytical laboratory or equivalent combination of higher education and experience. Certified pharmacy technician is a plus.
• Experience with sample preparative chemistry and wet chemistry analysis.
• Understanding of instrumental analysis procedures utilized in a modern chemistry laboratory.
• Demonstrated competence with computer applications and programs related to laboratory applications.
• Knowledge of sampling methods and quality control systems.
