What You Will Be Doing: This position will be responsible for supporting and administering enterprise services and components, using and leveraging a combination of application service systems, including but not limited to relational database systems, version control, operating systems, system integration, and other enterprise class technologies.
Successful candidates will:
- Support, configure, maintain, custom and/or off-the-shelf enterprise components and services associated with their assigned system(s).
- Support and administer enterprise services for the department including Azure Services, Microsoft SQL Services, Power BI, Microsoft Reporting Services, Azure DevOps, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Internet Information Server, Microsoft Active Directory/Entra ID as well as other assigned duties.
- Design and maintain software applications. Identify database, software, and/or application requirements, and help identify technology to meet business use cases.

Who We Are Looking For:We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic individual who will be a part of a team of Analyst Programmers in developing, deploying, and maintaining information systems to help improve the quality of life for Alaskans.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Database Administration: Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools for automating, developing, implementing, or administering database systems
- Information Technology Architecture: Knowledge of architectural methodologies used in the design and development of information systems, including the physical structure of a system's internal operations and interactions with other systems.
- Planning and Evaluating: Organizes work, sets priorities, and determines resource requirements; determines short- or long-term goals and strategies to achieve them; coordinates with other organizations or parts of the organization to accomplish goals; monitors progress and evaluates outcomes.
- Systems Integration: Knowledge of the principles, methods, and procedures for installing, integrating, and optimizing information systems components.

OR
Three months of actual computer programming experience.
OR
One year of work experience using a computer for analysis, including experience in the use of computer reporting languages, spreadsheets, or statistical packages.
Special Note: An applicant who will complete the required college-level coursework within three (3) months of hire qualifies to apply for this job class. An applicant qualifying under this option may receive a job offer conditional upon completion of the required college-level coursework and proof of completion will be required prior to final appointment and reporting for duty.

Analyst/Programmer 2 One year of computer programming experience in a recognized computer language. One year of the experience must have been in a business application, scientific application, microcomputer or computer system user support specialty.
Substitution: A bachelor's degree with a major in Computer Science (CS) or Computer Information Systems (CIS), or a related degree with (18) semester/(24) quarter hours of CS or CIS may substitute for all of the required experience. An associate's degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems may substitute for nine months of the required experience.
Special Note: An applicant who is considered under the Substitution above qualifies to apply for this job class IF the applicable coursework is completed within three (3) months of hire. Under this option, an applicant may receive a conditional job offer; however, proof of completion will be required prior to final appointment and reporting for duty.
