Analyst - PAM & IAM Location: Remote Server Access Remediation Business Need: Our organization is currently undertaking a critical server access remediation project to enhance our security posture and comply with industry best practices. This project requires dedicated resources to effectively manage, execute, and document the complex process of reviewing and remediating privileged access across our server infrastructure.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Privileged Access Management (PAM) / Identity and Access Management (IAM) Analyst to join our team. This role will primarily focus on a critical server access remediation project, working to enhance our organization's security posture through effective management of privileged access.
Key Responsibilities: - Assist in the server access remediation project by collecting and organizing data on current access levels across our server infrastructure.
- Support the review process of privileged access rights, helping to identify potentially unnecessary or excessive permissions.
- Collaborate with team members to document current access policies and procedures.
- Help prepare communications to stakeholders about upcoming access changes and their potential impact.
- Assist in executing access removal processes under supervision, following established security policies and best practices.
- Maintain and update project documentation, including tracking progress and changes made.
- Generate basic reports on project metrics and access management statistics. Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving PAM/IAM processes and workflows.
- Learn to use PAM/IAM tools and technologies employed by the organization. Assist in gathering and organizing information for compliance and audit purposes.
- Support the creation and maintenance of user guides and FAQs related to privileged access.
- Help monitor and flag potential security issues related to privileged access as part of the remediation process.
- Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures for ongoing access management.
Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field
- 1-2 years of experience in IT, cybersecurity, or a related area
- Basic understanding of IT security concepts and principles
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel for data analysis
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Eagerness to learn about PAM/IAM concepts and tools
Preferred Qualifications: - Internship or academic project experience related to IT security or access management
- Basic knowledge of directory services (e.g., Active Directory)
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is a plus
- Understanding of basic networking concepts
- Interest in or exposure to compliance and regulatory requirements in IT
