Overview
Job Purpose This role will be part of a team of information technology professionals responsible for monitoring a global network infrastructure including offices and internet data centers. This position requires technical proficiency, an eager attitude, professionalism, and solid communication skills.
Responsibilities - Build, maintain, and support a global packet capture and monitoring infrastructure.
- Investigate network and application anomalies using logs, alarms, APM solutions, TCP/IP traces, and captures.
- Document changes and author documentation on monitoring standards and practices.
- Design monitoring requirements in coordination with development and operations.
- Architect and implement monitoring solutions across multiple datacenters.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for monitoring across the enterprise.
- Provide rotational on-call support.
Knowledge & Experience - Understanding of core IT concepts including networking and access control
- Knowledge of Linux
- Ability to read packet captures
- TCP/IP networking and analysis skills
- Data analysis skills and competence in MS Word and Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work independently on multiple projects
- Minimal travel: 2-3 weeks per year
- Corvil, Niksun, Gigamon, or NetScout certification preferred
- Knowledge and/or experience with varying scripting languages preferred (PowerShell)
- CISSP or CCNA certification preferred
- Experience with Broadcom Spectrum
- Experience with BigPanda administration and/or Splunk preferred
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in CIS, engineering, or a related discipline
- Financial industry expertise preferred
- Change auditing and configuration management
