Marketing Analyst, NA Export - Commodity

Role Summary:

Reports to NA Export Commodity Marketing Supervisor. Responsible for front-line execution of the NA Export marketing and yield management strategies through pricing activity, regional NA Export target monitoring, customer performance evaluation and service contract maintenance.

Additional Responsibilities:
•   Negotiate and maintain ONE NA Export Commodity service contracts
•   Assist in administration of guideline rates in coordination with NA Marketing Management
•   Produce, maintain and analyze departmental reports and statistics
•   Monitor and act to eliminate negative margin cargo
•   Monitor, measure and take corrective action for the assigned commodity performance; this requires communication of corrective action to the NA regional sales staff when necessary, including monitoring and proactively addressing poor customer results
•   Direct regional sales teams in creation and execution of promotional cargo opportunities to meet business plan
•   Address BL rating issues with relevant documentation teams in North America and Overseas.
•   Provide assistance to customer service, documentation and operations teams for interpretation of tariffs and service contracts/rate agreements
•   Assist in route cost analysis and alternate route analysis to minimize cost and maximize vessel utilization

•   Ability to multitask and prioritize, while remaining detail-oriented
•   Proficiency in MS applications Excel and Word
•   Advanced knowledge of pivot tables, and formulas in MS Excel
•   Strong business acumen

Required Minimum Years Experience:

2+ industry experience and/or 1+ function related experience preferred

Required Minimum Education:

Bachelor's degree preferred
