We are seeking a skilled DSCR Multifamily & SFR Underwriter to evaluate and assess investment property loans for both multifamily and single-family rental (SFR) portfolios. This role requires expertise in Debt-Service Coverage Ratio (DSCR) loan underwriting, including financial analysis, risk assessment, and market evaluation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in real estate underwriting, investment property financing, and structured lending solutions.


Responsibilities:

  • Underwrite DSCR-based loans for multifamily properties, single-family rental (SFR) portfolios, and mixed-use properties
  • Analyze property income, expenses, net operating income (NOI), DSCR, loan-to-value (LTV) ratios, and borrower financials to determine risk.
  • Assess rental market trends, occupancy rates, cap rates, and property appreciation potential.
  • Review appraisals, rent rolls, lease agreement, property operating statements, credit reports, and borrower financial history.
  • Ensure compliance with internal credit policies, investor guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with loan officers, brokers, appraisers, and credit committees to facilitate efficient loan approvals.
  • Prepare detailed credit memos and risk assessments for loan committee presentation.
  • Structure loan terms, prepayment options, and interest reserves to optimize loan performance.
  • Stay informed about real estate market trends, regulatory changes, and economic factors affecting DSCR lending.
  • Assist in refining underwriting models, policies, and risk management frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • 3-5+ years of experience in DSCR loan underwriting, multifamily/SFR financing, or commercial real estate lending.
  • Strong knowledge of investment property lending, DSCR calculations, and cash flow analysis.
  • Proficiency in Excel, financial modeling, and real estate underwriting software.
  • Experience with non-QM loans, private lending, and alternative financing structures is a plus.
  • Familiarity with SFR portfolio lending, market comparables, and investment property valuation methods.
  • Experience underwriting single-family rental (SFR) portfolios and multifamily properties.
  • Knowledge of agency (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac) and private lending guidelines.
  • Certifications in real estate finance, underwriting, or credit risk management are a plus.

LOCATION: Work from home.

TIMINGS: IST 5:30pm to 2:30am
