Position Summary: Analyst 3: Information Technology - Systems Engineer is a senior-level team member and is responsible for monitoring, management, maintenance, and support of all aspects of PCC IT infrastructure and back-end services. They handle high-impact escalations, assist lower-tier support groups and address infrastructure change requests as needed. Additionally, they are also responsible for working with management to develop and maintain relevant procedures and standards, designing and defining technical solutions for projects, and implementation of infrastructure and security-related projects.
The work schedule for this position is flexible and may include working evenings and weekends and local travel.Successful candidates must be residents of Arizona by their start date.Duties and Responsibilities: - Troubleshoots and supports as a Tier 3 Systems Engineer. Mentors, leads and trains Tier 2 Systems Engineers
- Advanced experience managing Windows and Linux Servers and using scripts (PowerShell, Python, etc) for automating tasks
- Proficient with Windows and Linux server roles: File, Print, AD, DNS, DHCP, IIS, FSMO
- Windows and Linux server technologies: DFSN/R, FTP/SFTP, SMTP, KMS, NTP, GPO, domain trusts, Satellite, Ansible, RHEL Idm
- Patches and upgrades Linux and Windows Active Directory infrastructure to meet and enhance server environment
- Architects, plans, designs, and assists in hardware and software purchases for systems infrastructure
- Configures, updates, and manages network monitoring tools for effective alerting and reporting of infrastructure
- Advanced skills with Nutanix virtual environments, HA, Snapshots, HCI, Rubrik
- Ensures maximum uptime of servers and diligently maintains its highest availability by monitoring, prioritizing and actively resolving issues of Systems Engineer downtime. Actively participates in DR design, implementation and testing
- Advanced skills with Disk arrays, SAN, NAS iSCSI, fiber channel, storage area networks
- Assists in developing long-range operational goals for infrastructure systems
- Creates and updates technical documentation for individual and team use
- Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor
Job Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field of study and
- Three to five years of related technical experience and current certifications
or - An equivalent combination of certification, education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above
Preferred: - Master's degree in or a closely related field of study
- Advanced IT certifications (Microsoft, Linux, ITIL, etc.)
The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge, skills and abilities: - Solid understanding of managing, maintaining, and maintenance virtual environments
- Solid understand up backups and backup methods
- Solid understanding of both Windows and Linux environments
- Advanced IT certifications (Microsoft, Linux, ITIL, etc.)
- Proficiency in Nutanix and Hyper-V environments
- Strong understanding of Networking (LAN, WAN, WLAN, Switching, Routing, Firewalls)
- Ability to monitor and maintain network security at all levels
- Design and implementation of computer server environments, including security, backup, recovery, maintenance, and automation
- Advanced experience with disaster recovery solutions and backup procedures
- Advanced skills in evaluating and recommending computer hardware and software
- Capability in planning, coordinating, and scheduling projects
- Experienced in system analysis, tuning, and administration of Windows, Linux servers
- Advanced Proficiency in PowerShell, Python scripting languages
- Capacity to multi-task, excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail
