Position Summary / Career Interest: The registered nurse utilized the nursing process to coordinate the interdisciplinary approach to patient care. Responsible for promoting and restoring patient's health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and team members; and providing physical and psychological support to patients and their families. Exhibits the core values of the organization, compassion, integrity and unity. He/she practices within the boundaries of the Kansas Nurse Practice Act, specialty standards, and organizational/departmental policies and procedures.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
  • Consistently meets work schedule.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking utilizing all aspects of the nursing process.
  • Maintains a safe environment for patients.
  • Coordinates health care services with hospital, vendors, physician's offices and other institutions.
  • Answers patient/significant others phone calls, evaluate patient's needs, and triage patient care.
  • Provides patient/family education using resources available.
  • Acts as liaison between patient, significant others and health team members.
  • Identifies area for professional growth.
  • Participates fully as a member of the Patient Centered Medical Home Team.
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
  • Associate Degree Nursing
  • High School Graduate

Preferred Education and Experience
  • 1 or more years of previous healthcare experience

Required Licensure and Certification
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - Single State - State Board of Nursing OR
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - Multi-State - State Board of Nursing
  • Staff hired prior to 2/1/2024 are required to obtain a multistate state RN license from the state in which they live at the time of their next RN license renewal by 3/31/2026.
  • CPR/ AED/ BLS - Other BLS
