SMX is seeking an AWS Automation Engineer to be part of our Information Technology Team supporting our customer in Patuxent River, MD. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience with AWS cloud services and Amazon QuickSight, specializing in the creation of interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations for use by executives, departmental managers, and customers. This role involves working with a variety of data sources, ensuring secure access to sensitive information, and organizing embedded visualizations in web portals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Design and develop interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Amazon QuickSight for various stakeholders, including executives, managers, and external customers. Integrate data from multiple sources such as Excel, CSV, Oracle, DynamoDB, S3, and more to build comprehensive data models and visualizations. Build and manage efficient data pipelines and integrations for various formats, including MarkDown, HTML, MS Word, MS Excel, PDF, databases, JSON, etc. Develop and implement role-based access control (RBAC) mechanisms in QuickSight to limit data access to specific user groups, ensuring secure data delivery. Collaborate with AWS IAM to ensure secure access to dashboards, controlling data visibility and permissions. Embed QuickSight visualizations within web portals, ensuring seamless integration and user-friendly navigation. Required Skills: Secret clearance Security+ certification 2+ years of hands-on experience with AWS Cloud services. 2+ years of experience with Amazon QuickSight for creating interactive visualizations and dashboards. Strong proficiency with SQL and data modeling. Experience integrating data from a variety of sources (Excel, CSV, Oracle, DynamoDB, S3, etc.). Strong knowledge of Amazon QuickSight authentication mechanisms and RBAC controls. Proficiency with AWS IAM integration and dashboard sharing in QuickSight. Experience using GitLab, CloudFormation, or Terraform for delivering dashboards and reports across cloud environments. Ability to manage and deliver content in various formats (MarkDown, HTML, MS Word, MS Excel, PDF, JSON). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Desired Skills: Experience with web portal integration for embedding interactive dashboards. Familiarity with data governance and compliance best practices in cloud environments.
