Role Description

Reporting to the VP of Digital Advertising, the Amazon Promotions Manager will play a key role in helping brands scale successfully on Amazon by developing and managing promotional calendars, aligning promotions with sales trends, seasonal demand, and competitive benchmarks to maximize revenue impact.

This role does not involve directly managing Amazon Ads but will work cross-functionally with the Performance Marketing, Creative, and Account Management teams to support and amplify promotional success.

Key Responsibilities:

Promotions Strategy & Execution
  • Develop, manage, and execute Amazon promotional strategies that drive sales velocity, organic ranking improvement, and overall GMV growth for our brand partners.
  • Build out and maintain promotional calendars, ensuring strategic alignment across seasonal events, product launches, and competitive trends (e.g., Prime Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Back to School, Holiday Deals).
  • Utilize various Amazon deal types (Top Deals, Best Deals, Lightning Deals, 7-Day Deals, Best Deals, Top Deals, Coupons, Prime Exclusive Discounts, and Limited-Time Offers) based on data trends, category benchmarks, and competitor insights to ensure maximum ROI for our brand partners.
  • Optimize deal selection and timing by analyzing product sales velocity, competitor pricing, and previous promotional performance.
  • Secure and manage promotional opportunities through Amazon reps, leveraging Amazon Strategic Account Services (SAS) to obtain exclusive discounts and deal placements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Partner closely with the Account Management teams to align promotional strategies, timing, and KPIs to our brand partners' goals.
  • Partner closely with Amazon Ads and Performance Marketing teams to align promotional efforts with paid media campaigns for maximum visibility and impact.
  • Work with Creative & Content teams to ensure promotional messaging, pricing, and visual assets are optimized for click-through rate (CTR) and conversion rate (CVR).
  • Collaborate with Brand Protection and Operations teams to monitor active promotions, prevent compliance issues, and ensure pricing integrity across Amazon listings.
  • Communicate actionable promotional insights across departments, ensuring every team understands promotion performance and next steps.
Performance Analysis & Optimization:
  • Track and report on the success of Amazon promotions by analyzing sales lift, organic ranking impact, conversion rates, and customer engagement.
  • Monitor key performance metrics including before-and-after sales trends, promotional ROI, inventory levels, and pricing competitiveness.
  • Adjust future promotional strategies based on data-driven insights, identifying how to replicate high-performing promotions across multiple brands.
  • Stay updated on Amazon promotional policies, ensuring clients maintain competitive positioning without violating pricing or compliance rules.
  • Identify and capitalize on new promotional opportunities, including beta programs and exclusive offers provided by Amazon.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing promotional strategies on Amazon, with a strong understanding of deal structures, discounting strategies, and pricing optimization.
  • Deep knowledge of Amazon promotions, including Top Deals, Best Deals, Lightning Deals, 7-Day Deals, Best Deals, Coupons, Prime Exclusive Discounts, and Holiday Offers.
  • Proven track record of driving incremental revenue through effective promotional strategies while maintaining profitability and brand integrity.
  • Strong analytical abilities, able to track performance data, optimize deals, and provide actionable insights to improve promotional effectiveness Experience working with Amazon Seller Central, Vendor Central, Brand Analytics, Business Reports, and pricing tools to structure high-impact promotions.
  • Experience with forecasting and monitoring promotional impact on inventory, ensuring balanced supply chain management.
  • Exceptional project management skills, able to coordinate multiple promotional campaigns across multiple brands simultaneously.
  • Experience collaborating with Amazon Ads, Account Management, and Creative teams to align promotion messaging and ensure seamless execution.
  • Proven ability to communicate and negotiate with Amazon reps, securing the best promotional opportunities for brand partners.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience managing vendor or SAS-recommended promotional opportunities
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and identify possible outcomes to eventually determine the best path forward
