Pay Rate/Range: The budgeted salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $28.74 - $35.44/hr. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience; the budget for the position; and the application of fair, equitable, and consistent pay practices at the University. The full salary range for this position is $28.07 - $48.28/hr.

Work Location: 1104 Mosher Alumni House

Working Days and Hours: 8 am - 5 pm Monday - Friday

Brief Summary of Job Duties: The Alumni Marketing Manager will lead the development, coordination, and execution of strategic online alumni engagement and marketing for UC Santa Barbara Alumni. This leadership position will create a dynamic online presence that enhances alumni's brand, fosters engagement, inspires philanthropy, and supports the University's mission through innovative communication strategies and programming. The Manager reports to the Associate Director and supervises student interns. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in marketing, data-driven decision-making, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams. This role requires creativity, strategic thinking, and a passion for building long-term relationships with alumni to help strengthen the university's alumni network.

Required Qualifications:

1-3 years of progressive experience with digital content creation, social media management, managing email marketing platforms similar to Emma and making basic CMS webpage updates
1-3 years of experience in Marketing and Communications
Social media expertise
Must possess proficient knowledge of MS Office, Google Workspace, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva and ability to quickly learn various software programs

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree
1-3 years of experience facilitating meetings and supervision of staff
Project management skills
Graphic Design experience

Job Functions and Percentages of Time:

45% Markeing and Communication Strategy and Graphic Design - Designs and executes multichannel, segmented marketing and communication strategies and campaigns to enhance alumni engagement online and in person. Collaborates with staff to develop and design dynamic campaign assets to promote alumni events, benefits, and programs. Digital Engagement and Technology Management: Oversee the management and optimization of digital platforms, including alumni social media platforms (e.g. Instagram), alumni web pages, event management tools (Trust Event Solutions), and email systems (Emma). Drive alumni engagement through innovative digital strategies such as webinars, social media campaigns, and virtual events. Leadership and Team Collaboration: Facilitate monthly digital engagement meetings with Alumni and the Office of Public Affairs staff. Supervise and mentor student interns, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team. Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising interns, ensuring adherence to University policies and procedures. Build synergies across campus departments, including the Office of Public Affairs, Athletics, and academic units, to align efforts and maximize alumni impact.

45% Digital/Database Management - Manages alumni-focused digital platforms, including social media, email marketing, websites, and event tools. This includes distributing content across digital platforms to foster alumni connectivity and community, closely monitoing social media platforms, engaging with followers, and tracking alumni engagement using key performance indicators (KPIs). Collaborates with Alumni Affairs staff and manages the scheduling, content creation, and formatting for all email and social marketing campaigns. Analyzes data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of digital campaigns and engagement initiatives. Ensure alumni records are accurately maintained and leveraged for effective communication and engagement.

10% Event Support - Records, edits and shares event content for alumni outreach. Represents the Alumni team at events, capturing promotional materials and fostering alumni connections. Records, edits and distributes event conent, ensuring broad alumni access and engagement. Act as a front-facing representative of the Alumni team, attending events and capturing content for promotional use.
