ALPHA AND FUTURE CAMPUS PASTOR
FULL-TIME, EXEMPT
JOB PURPOSE
The Alpha Pastor & Future Campus Pastor will serve as a key leader in the church's mission to make disciples and expand the reach of the gospel. This individual will oversee and grow the Alpha ministry with the possibility of planting a future campus in Orange County for our church. The ideal candidate will love Jesus, have prior Alpha and ministry experience, be able to build ministry and develop leadership teams from the ground up, be a visionary and relational leader with a passion for evangelism, discipleship, and church planting.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Alpha Ministry Leadership: - Champion and oversee the Alpha ministry, ensuring its growth and effectiveness in engaging new believers and seekers.
- Recruit, train, and equip leaders and volunteers to facilitate Alpha groups.
- Collaborate with church leadership to integrate Alpha into the church's broader discipleship strategy.
- Organize Alpha courses, events, and follow-up pathways for attendees to become active church members.
- Foster a welcoming and engaging atmosphere for those exploring faith.
- Create a welcoming Front Door to our church by greeting new people and hosting our monthly Connect with Friends Gathering.
Future Campus Leadership Preparation: - Develop a deep understanding of the church's mission, vision, and culture in preparation for future campus leadership.
- Assist in strategic planning, outreach, and leadership development for a new campus launch.
- Identify and mentor potential campus leaders, staff, and volunteers.
- Build relationships with the community and seek ways to engage and serve the local area.
- Oversee small groups, discipleship initiatives, and pastoral care as part of campus development.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attend and participate in required Friends Church staff meetings, events, programs, and training determined by supervisor.
- Keep current in related field.
- Participate in the Pastor on Call Team.
- Maintain a healthy balanced life spiritually, have spiritual mentors and prayer partners to care for you in your ministry and personal life.
- Cooperate with supervision by performing agreed-upon related duties when assigned or instructed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a calling to pastoral ministry.
- Those that serve God on the staff at Friends Church are expected to set a high standard of personal conduct and lifestyle. It is required that all staff members and spouses actively participate in the ministries of Friends Church and Life Groups.
- Agreement with the church's doctrinal beliefs and mission.
- Bachelor's degree in theology, ministry, or a related field (Master's preferred but not required).
- Must be commissioned through Friends Southwest.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of ministry leadership experience, preferably with Alpha or a similar evangelistic initiative.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and equip teams.
- Excellent communication, preaching and teaching abilities.
- Strong organizational and strategic planning skills.
- Ability to build relationships and engage with diverse groups of people.
- Willingness to relocate within Orange County if required for campus leadership.
