Summary

The Allocations Intern will assist in appropriately allocating merchandise to existing Stores, new Stores, and the Internet Store. The teammate in this role will assist and support on allocation of merchandise within one category, brand, or department while operating under the direction of the Allocations Manager. This role involves data analysis, inventory management, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize stock levels and sales performance.

Inventory Allocation and Freight Management
  • Assist in distributing merchandise to stores based on sales trends and inventory needs.
  • Monitor stock levels and suggest replenishment strategies.
  • Help track and analyze store performance to adjust allocations accordingly.
  • Review each piece of merchandise to ensure the item meets company and regulatory labeling standards.
  • Carefully process and review the pack slip for and discrepancies between product and system.
  • Create store distribution lists by analyzing current selling trends, sales history, and input from the Buying Team.
  • Review category with leadership team weekly to ensure stores are receiving and maintaining adequate inventory levels to sustain sales volume and provide growth opportunities.
  • Review Buyer's report with leadership team to identify specific styles that regular stores are outperforming online selling and complete inventory transfers appropriately.
Data Analysis and Reporting
  • Collect and analyze sales and inventory data to support allocation decisions.
  • Prepare reports and dashboards on product performance and stock distribution.
  • Identify trends and provide recommendations for optimization.
  • Analyze online selling trends compared to regular stores to ensure adequate initial inventory holds for store replenishment and online.
Collaboration and Coordination
  • Work closely with merchandising, supply chain, and store operations teams to ensure effective inventory flow.
  • Coordinate the transfer of merchandise between existing stores.
  • Review store product requests with leadership team to identify the best method to fulfill requests.
  • Communicate with stores, vendors, and warehouse teams regarding stock availability.
  • Ability to review cancel dates, product status sheet, and weekly receipts.
  • Support special projects related to product allocation and distribution.
Process Improvement
  • Assist in identifying inefficiencies in the allocation process.
  • Suggest and help implement solutions to improve inventory distribution strategies.
  • Gain knowledge in using Allocations Applications and how to utilize them to ensure effective and efficient job performance.
    • Experience with Excel Power Pivots, Product Status Sheet, AS400, RAPTOR, CONDOR, Advanced Product Search, Buyers Report, Product Requests, Inventory Manager, and Performance Tracker is preferred.
  • Review routine job decisions with direction from the leadership team.
  • Demonstrate the ability to identify problems or errors and communicate those to the leadership team seeking the best possible outcome.
General
  • Fulfill mission statement by performing job duties with a high level of customer service while contributing to a positive team spirit.
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
  • Intern must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Merchandising, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in retail, logistics, or data analysis is preferred.
