Division Director of Midwifery Opportunity in Rhode, IslandLocation: Providence, Rhode Island Overview: Seeking a seasoned and visionary leader for the role of Division Director of Midwifery. This full-time position will lead and enhance midwifery care across inpatient and outpatient settings, with a focus on underserved populations and high-quality education.Key Responsibilities: 50% clinical practice; 50% administrative, leadership, and academic duties Oversee and ensure excellence in outpatient, antepartum, labor and delivery, postpartum, and triage midwifery care Lead development of a Midwifery Alongside Birthing Center and a midwife-led Obstetric Triage Unit Supervise and mentor midwifery staff and Associate Midwife Directors Maintain and improve job satisfaction and team cohesion Support clinical education for residents and medical students Ensure quality assurance and data monitoring Foster a culture of scholarship, including participation in research and grant-writing Represent midwifery in interdisciplinary and departmental forums Qualifications: Certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board Minimum 10 years of clinical experience in midwifery Demonstrated leadership and management expertise Experience with medical education and a strong academic foundation Proven success in working with underserved communities Affiliations and Institutional Highlights: Academic partner: The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University OB/GYN Department ranked by U.S. News & World Report Home to all ABOG-accredited fellowships, 32 OB/GYN residents, and $9M+ in research funding Location Benefits: Providence offers rich cultural, academic, and lifestyle benefits, with access to Boston (1 hour) and New York City (3 hours) Enjoy coastal living with excellent schools and abundant outdoor activities
