About the Role

We're seeking a System Test Engineer to provide critical support for hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and integrated system testing during off-hours-including evening, night, and potentially weekend shifts. This hands-on role is essential to keeping our test operations running smoothly and safely outside standard working hours.

This position involves working closely with global teams and supporting local test operators with configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of system test rigs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and maintain test environments including software, hardware, and simulation systems
  • Assist test teams by preparing configurations and verifying system readiness for scheduled testing
  • Load and update firmware/software on test assets and avionics hardware
  • Maintain detailed logs of configuration changes, test activities, and observed issues
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose both hardware and software issues in the HIL systems
  • Develop and maintain step-by-step test operation procedures and training materials
  • Ensure test lab organization and enforce inventory and tool control processes
  • Perform or coordinate routine maintenance of test systems
  • Support proper documentation and resolution of system deficiencies

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Software, or a related engineering field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a system integration, test engineering, or HIL environment
  • Solid understanding of Windows operating systems and computer setup
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, interface control documents, and datasheets
  • Familiarity with communication protocols such as RS485, RS422, and Ethernet
  • Experience configuring and supporting lab environments for complex hardware/software systems
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently during off-peak hours
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Bonus Skills (Preferred)

  • Scripting ability in Python and/or C/C
  • Hands-on experience with National Instruments platforms such as VeriStand, LabVIEW, or PXI
  • Background in analog or power electronics
  • Familiarity with tools like oscilloscopes, multimeters, CANalyzer, or similar bus analyzers

Shift Schedule (Subject to Change)

  • Option 1: Monday to Friday, 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
  • Option 2: Monday to Friday, 4:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • Occasional weekend or on-call work may be required based on testing needs

Ideal Candidate

You're a proactive, safety-focused engineer who thrives in dynamic environments. You enjoy working hands-on with complex systems, and you're comfortable taking ownership during off-hours. If you're adaptable, technically strong, and enjoy solving problems with a global team-this role is for you.
