Air Compliance Specialist

Direct Hire

Cameron, LA

About You

You are an experienced Environmental Compliance Specialist with a minimum of 5 years of expertise in air compliance, permitting, and regulatory affairs - particularly within the energy, petrochemical, or heavy industrial sectors. You thrive in fast-paced, high-impact environments and are eager to step into a pivotal subject matter expert (SME) role. You're confident working independently as the sole air compliance resource on-site, but also collaborative enough to engage cross-functionally with operations teams and executive leadership. You're open to relocating to Cameron, Louisiana, and are comfortable working full-time on-site in hot and humid conditions. You bring a proactive mindset, a strong grasp of federal and state air regulations, and can manage rotational on-call responsibilities. A background in Environmental Science or a related field is ideal, though demonstrated experience and technical expertise may be considered in place of a degree.

About the Role

This is a direct hire opportunity based at a plant site in Cameron, Louisiana, where you'll serve as the primary air compliance specialist for a major energy operator. You'll be working closely with VPs of Operations and the broader air compliance team based in Houston. The role is full-time on-site, with expectations of working 50 - 60 hours per week and participating in a rotational on-call schedule - typically one weekend per month. You'll be a key contributor to a highly niche team focused on air permitting, regulatory compliance, and CCUS (Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage). There's approximately 10% travel to Houston for leadership meetings, and while the position is technically demanding, it comes with strong growth potential within a specialized and expanding department.

About the Client

The client is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The company's two Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. Using reliable, proven technology in an innovative plant design configuration, their modular, mid-scale plant design will replace traditional designs as it allows for the same efficiency and operational reliability at significantly lower capital cost.

What's on Offer?

You will be brought on directly by the client - their benefits include 401K match, 4 Weeks of PTO, Federal Holidays, Full medical benefits for you and your spouse/dependents, and a bonus structure.
