An international freight forwarding company is looking to hire an Export Operations Supervisor for their International Export/Import Operations. The ideal candidate has a strong background in international (air & ocean cargo, air experience preferred) freight forwarding/warehouse operations.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Supervise export agents to ensure operations of all export agents are efficient and meet changing demands.
- Take care of operations in all daily export activities (consolidating export shipments, recommending best mode of transportation, obtaining the best rates and spaces from carriers, reviewing customer volumes and ensuring all transactions are processed accurately and timely.
- Understand customer needs, communicate with customers, and respond to requirements, concerns, and issues related to anything that may interfere with shipments and delivery of the customer's product.
- Perform routine audits, and ensure compliance and recordkeeping requirements are met.
- Manage licensed shipments and special accounts, ensuring shipment complies with regulations.
- Follows all safety and security measures, including government and local programs.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of freight forwarding (international) experience. Team lead and logistics operations management experience preferred.
- Must utilize customer service skills to work with a variety of people (coworkers, clients, etc.).
- Must be able to effectively & communicate verbally and in written form across all levels of the organization
- Must have customer relations and relationship management experience.
- Must have the ability to compose letters, memos, emails, and other written documentation clearly and concisely. Be able to present one's self in a highly cooperative and professional manner when meeting both internal and external customers and vendors face to face.
- Preferred - Knowledge of export administration regulations: TSA, IATA, HAZMAT, ITAR.
- Preferred - experience handling dangerous goods
- Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
