Key Responsibilities:
AI Strategy & Roadmap
- Define enterprise-wide architecture standards for generative AI, including ChatGPT adoption frameworks, data integration, model management, and security.
- Lead development of generative AI reference architecture, aligning with both IT and business strategies.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to prioritize AI initiatives with the highest impact.
Architecture & Technical Leadership
- Architect reusable components and pipelines for LLM-based applications across business domains.
- Guide the deployment of ChatGPT APIs and fine-tuned models within internal systems, ensuring low-latency, scalable integration.
- Establish and enforce best practices for prompt engineering, model selection, RAG (retrieval-augmented generation), and fine-tuning strategies.
Governance & Risk Management
- Define AI governance policies for model lifecycle, usage controls, auditing, privacy, and compliance.
- Ensure proper data access, role-based permissions, and safeguards for confidential or regulated content.
- Collaborate with security and legal teams to mitigate AI-related risks and align with responsible AI frameworks.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Data Science, DevOps, Security, Infrastructure, and Business Units to develop scalable LLM-powered solutions.
- Educate stakeholders on architectural considerations of LLMs including latency, cost trade-offs, model observability, and ethical use.
Innovation & Evaluation
- Evaluate evolving LLM technologies, including open-source models (e.g., LLaMA, Mistral) and APIs (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic).
- Pilot and recommend new architectures or tools to improve generative AI adoption and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Science, or related field (Master's or PhD preferred).
Experience:
- 10+ years in enterprise architecture or solution architecture roles, with 3+ years in AI/ML-focused architecture.
- Proven experience deploying generative AI solutions at scale in a corporate or cloud-native environment.
- Hands-on knowledge of cloud services (Azure preferred), especially Azure OpenAI Service.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of large language models, NLP pipelines, and transformer-based architectures.
- Proficiency in Python, REST APIs, and orchestration tools like Kubernetes, Airflow, or LangChain.
- Deep knowledge of data security, compliance (HIPAA, GDPR), and enterprise IT governance.
Preferred:
- Experience implementing retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS).
- Familiarity with MLOps tools for model versioning, deployment, and monitoring (e.g., MLflow, SageMaker, Azure ML).
- Experience with prompt optimization and ChatGPT plugin development.
