Overview:
An advanced engineering team working on cutting-edge hypersonic programs for the Department of Defense and NASA is seeking an Aerothermal Analysis Lead. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in national defense and space exploration by supporting high-speed platforms and thermal protection technologies.
We are looking for a motivated technical leader with deep expertise in hypersonics analysis to lead and manage the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a multidisciplinary team focused on fluid, thermal, and fluid-structure interaction analyses.
- Oversee modeling and simulation of hypersonic vehicles and reentry systems using CFD, FEA, and reduced-order tools.
- Collaborate with test engineers to support design and analysis for flight and ground test environments, including arc jet facilities.
- Evaluate material performance under extreme thermal and flow conditions.
- Guide the development of modeling capabilities such as ablation and decomposition models.
- Mentor and manage analysis team members, including conducting performance reviews.
- Communicate technical findings clearly and effectively across teams.
Minimum Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
- Master's or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in thermal/aerothermal analysis of supersonic or hypersonic systems
- Experience in thermal protection system (TPS) modeling and hypersonic ground testing
- Proven leadership in technical teams and complex engineering environments
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active DoD Secret clearance
- 8+ years of relevant experience in high-speed vehicle analysis and TPS modeling
- Experience with ablation, decomposition, or thermal-chemical material models
