Overview:

An advanced engineering team working on cutting-edge hypersonic programs for the Department of Defense and NASA is seeking an Aerothermal Analysis Lead. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in national defense and space exploration by supporting high-speed platforms and thermal protection technologies.


We are looking for a motivated technical leader with deep expertise in hypersonics analysis to lead and manage the team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a multidisciplinary team focused on fluid, thermal, and fluid-structure interaction analyses.
  • Oversee modeling and simulation of hypersonic vehicles and reentry systems using CFD, FEA, and reduced-order tools.
  • Collaborate with test engineers to support design and analysis for flight and ground test environments, including arc jet facilities.
  • Evaluate material performance under extreme thermal and flow conditions.
  • Guide the development of modeling capabilities such as ablation and decomposition models.
  • Mentor and manage analysis team members, including conducting performance reviews.
  • Communicate technical findings clearly and effectively across teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
  • Master's or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in thermal/aerothermal analysis of supersonic or hypersonic systems
  • Experience in thermal protection system (TPS) modeling and hypersonic ground testing
  • Proven leadership in technical teams and complex engineering environments

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in high-speed vehicle analysis and TPS modeling
  • Experience with ablation, decomposition, or thermal-chemical material models
