Summary:

Under the Marketing Director's guidance, this role executes marketing strategies, supports campaign development, and ensures alignment with organizational goals including the following; Implements and directs Customer Development Campaigns and Casino Promotional Programs, creating market awareness to increase market share and gaming revenues; gathers and organizes information on market trends; analyzes casino/player business and completes reports; plans/implements/ evaluates advertising campaigns, player promotions and business development strategies; creates and executes casino promotions and special events; coordinates and manages outside entertainment; evaluates competitor operations; and performs other duties as required.

Essential Job Functions:
    • Creates, implements, and executes promotions (immediate, short, and long-range) to ensure profit growth so that the property retains existing customers and acquires new customers, in accordance with the property marketing plan.
  • Partners with Database Manager to prepare financial pro forma projections of expected profitability for proposed promotions and reviews the results of past promotions and events. Makes recommendations for the feasibility of repeating or modifying those promotions.
  • This role collaborates with cross-functional teams (gaming, food & beverage, hotel, entertainment) to deliver integrated marketing initiatives
  • Has knowledge of and helps plan media and advertising scheduling, external messaging, and marketing strategies.
  • Monitors marketing budget controls and provides forecasting.
  • Assists the Marketing Director in the development of a strategic marketing plan.
  • Attends meetings and engages with media partners and outside vendors, including media buying agencies and outside professional service contractors.
  • Conducts market research to understand guest trends, preferences, and behavior, as well as competitor activities
  • Works with the creative team and associated processes,
  • Manages advertising and online marketing programs, creative content, and media schedules.
  • Oversees public relations and communications roles.
  • Takes direction and ensures execution of any and all marketing activities as identified by the Marketing Director.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Provide overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all employees within the department(s).

  • Interviews, hires, trains, and separates employees.
  • Plans, assigns and directs work; appraises performance; rewards and disciplines employees; addresses complaints and resolves problems for employees as well as guests.
  • Ensures the hiring, training, promoting, assigning, disciplining, and discharging of employees are in accordance with Tribal Law, including without limitation, the Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO).
Required Knowledge of:
  • Emerging trends in current print, online, and outdoor advertising design, and production.
  • Radio, television, and multimedia advertising practices.
  • Elements of effective copywriting and editing.
  • Print and web design.
  • Printing production processes.
  • Supervisory principles, practices, and methods.

  • Developing marketing plans and strategies.
  • Supervising and coordinating the activities of subordinate personnel.

Education, Experience, Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in marketing, public relations, journalism, or advertising or a related field, and six (6) years of casino marketing work experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Valid State of Oregon Driver's License AND eligible for company car insurance.
  • High-security gaming license issued by the Grand Ronde Gaming Commission.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Due to the nature of the interactions with other employees and the public we serve, employees may be required to provide documentation of, or receive, certain health vaccinations
Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements:
  • Work is performed in an office environment.
  • Work is subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, and lifting up to 10 pounds.
Equipment and Tools Utilized:
  • Equipment utilized includes personal computers, standard office equipment, telephone and audio/video equipment, two-way radio, and department vehicles.
