Join the McNabb Center Team as the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse today. The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY Summary of position and role of team :
• Responsible for the delivery and oversight of psychiatric care to assigned patients involved in medication services provided at the Center's outpatient clinical sites.
• Provides assessment and pharmacotherapy to patients in individual appointments as well as work with a team of providers to address other health related clinical and administrative patient needs.
• Provides all clinical services under the HRMC APRN Protocol.
• It is essential for this position that the APRN be reliable and predictable in their attendance and available on-site for up to 40 hours per week as it pertains to job duties and other task as assigned. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT
• The APRN will work in the outpatient clinic or office setting, and not in the community. This job description does not constitute a written or implied contract of employment. 1. Works in a multi-disciplinary team approach to meet the clinical needs of patients.
• Performs patient evaluations and provides treatment through individual medication appointments focusing on diagnosis, treatment effectiveness and/or complications.
• The APRN must be able to assess, diagnose, and treat all patients across the lifespan while providing services in the outpatient clinics.
• Collaborates with other team members around patient care issues and documents this in the patient medical record when appropriate.
• Attends treatment team meetings (as approved) and provide input on patient care. 2. Completes all documentation in compliance with HRMC standards.
• Documents clinical services provided in the case record within 2 business days in a clear and concise manner.
• Responds to all flags, emails, and voicemails from other clinical staff within 2 business days.
• Reviews and co-signs treatment plans within 2 business day of receiving.
• Dictations must be completed and available for transcription within 2 business days.
• Documents medication consent for medications prescribed in face-to-face manner at HRMC at the time of initiating a new medication.
• Documentation reflects utilization of Guidelines for Prescribing Controlled Substances.
• Documentation reflects the utilization of Guidelines for Monitoring Maintenance Pharmacotherapy. 3. Completion of expected productivity.
• Expectation for outpatient mental health services includes completing an average of 1 initial medication assessment per hour (45-60 minutes) or 3-4 medication follow up appointments per hour (15 minutes each) with a daily target of 25 units per day.
• The APRN is expected to compare and review daily productivity to that of the Tableau Dashboard.
• Expectations for other programs such as CSU, EmPATH, PACT, residential programs, and others will be service specific. 4. Completion of required HRMC training to maintain status as a credentialed provider.
• Maintains an active DEA license and a RN/APRN license in the state of Tennessee in accordance with the state and ANCC/AANP guidelines.
• Completes any Center Required Self-Directed Learning or Training Modules in the required time frames.
• Completes First Aid, CPR, and HWC (if applicable) trainings within the required time frames. COMPENSATION:
• Starting salary for this position is approximately $125,594 /yr based on relevant experience and education. Schedule:
• The APRN is expected to fulfill the agreed upon hours when hired.
• Unless otherwise approved, the APRN is expected to be present in the clinic from 8am-5pm.
• All other scheduling arrangements are approved on a case-by-case basis. Travel :
• Travel is not required if the APRN is providing medication services to their designated outpatient clinic.
• The APRN may have to travel between clinics/programs at times, and may be required to travel for any supervision, trainings, or scheduled meetings.
• There is no overnight travel.
• Clients will not be transported by the APRN. Equipment/Technical Competency :
• Computer experience is required.
• Must have previous knowledge and experience in working with Excel, Word, and previous EMRs. Equipment/Technology:
• Staff will receive a center issued laptop and have access to a desktop in order to provide medication services.
• It is essential for the APRN to have access to one or both devices in order to access desktop, Athena Health (EMR), Drs. First platform, and Doxy.me (telehealth platform).
• The APRN will require access to e-mail, I:Drive, and an EPCS Token.
• VPN (remote) access is approved on a case-by-case basis. QUALIFICATIONS - Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Experience / Knowledge:
• Must have obtained a minimum of 500 clinical hours with a preceptor while enrolled in the respective APRN program.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, confidentiality, best practice with prescribing medication, and patient centered practice approach required. Education / License :
• Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing and possess an active license as a Registered Nurse (RN) from the state of Tennessee.
• Have completed an American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) approved Psychiatric Mental Health APRN Program and maintain an active license as an APRN in the state of Tennessee.
• Must be board certified and hold a certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from The ANCC and/or AANP.
• Have a Certificate of Fitness from The Tennessee Board of Nursing.
• Must hold and maintain an active DEA license including the mandatory eight hours of MAT training. Physical/Emotional/Social - Skills/Abilities:
• Staff must complete and maintain First-Aid and CPR trainings within the required time frames.
• Outpatient APRNs must complete verbal de-escalation every year but are not required to complete the full Handle With Care training.
