We are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join our Cardiovascular Surgery team at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI. We are hiring for our ICU, Operating room, or Hybrid, and our Outpatient cardiac surgery practice. You will assist with various aspects of the cardiac surgery patient care, including diagnosis, treatment and consultations. Shifts and roles will vary by position but may include on-call, nights, weekends, and holidays. Responsibilities:
OR/Hybrid -Provide intra-operative first assisting in all cardiac surgical procedures, including endoscopic vein and radial artery harvesting, femoral arterial-venous cut downs, and intra-aortic balloon placement, focusing on patient care before, during, and after surgery
ICU- Provide patient care in the pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative setting with primary focus being in the intensive care unit.
Outpatient - Document medical histories, conduct thorough physical exams perform consults, sick visits and discharge clinic.

Qualifications:
Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the state of RI; candidate should hold or be eligible for licensure for Federal DEA certificate
Physician Assistants must be graduates of an accredited PA program with current NCCPA certification
Nurse Practitioners must be graduates of a Nurse Practitioner program and certified by the ANCC or AANP
BLS/ACLS certified, or completed within 2 years of hire
At least 3+ months of on-the-job training and surgical experience in first assisting and ability to function with significant clinical autonomy while providing care to patients with consideration of aging processes, human development stages and cultural patterns
Knowledge of basic emergency department, internal medicine generalist, occupational medicine and family practice procedures
Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills
