We are seeking a full-time Electrophysiology Advanced Practice Provider to join us at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI. You will be working directly with the Manager of Procedural APPs and the sponsoring Cardiologist, providing electrophysiology care to patients in adherence to the values of Brown University Health.
Responsibilities:
Gather medical histories, conduct physical exams, and document findings
Update medical records with progress notes and create treatment plans
Handle pre-admission testing and ensure patients are ready for procedures like ablations and device implants
Offer post-procedure care for electrophysiology patients and assist in related procedures
Perform cardioversions and loop device implants and removals
Evaluate patient conditions and collaborate with the attending physician on treatment plans
Provide outpatient care for electrophysiology patients, including consultations, follow up visits, and urgent evaluations
Manage routine and complex cardiac device assessments, treat arrhythmias, and prepare patients for device upgrades and changes
May assist with procedures in the electrophysiology lab under supervision
Qualifications :
2+ years of experience as a nurse practitioner or physician associate is preferred; must have patient care services and procedures approved by the sponsoring physician
Cardiology experience preferred
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner master's program with current board certification
Current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Rhode Island with prescriptive privileges
Nurse Practitioner certification or certification-eligible by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP)
BLS, ACLS, and National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification required
