Advance Counselor PRN Weekend Coverage - Maryview Medical Center Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
The Advanced Counselor provides direct patient care under the guidance of a designated healthcare professional in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, and within policies, procedures, and guidelines of Bon Secours Mercy Health (BSMH) . May provide clinical and administrative supervision.
Licensing/Certification
Required to have one of the following:
Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC ) ( required if employed in Virginia)
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with training Supervision (LPCC-S) (preferred)
Education
Masters , Counseling, Expressive Art or related field (required)
Work Experience
2 years ' experience in healthcare, social or human services setting. (required)
Essential Job Functions
- Psychoeducation group facilitation
- Provides in-person facilitation of intensive outpatient program ( IOP ), partial hospitalization program ( PHP ), or o utpatient psychotherapy
- Individual, family and group psychotherapy
- Participates in family and treatment team meetings
- Provides crisis assessment and referral services
- Completes psychosocial Assessments -within scope and clinical supervision
- Participates in discharge planning
- Gathers i nformation
- Community resource knowledge and collaboration
- May completes substance use disorder ( SUD ) screenings, patient health questionnaire (PHQ-9) , Columbia-Suicide Rating Scale ( C-SSRS ) , generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) , post- tramatic stress disorder ( PTSD ) screening, and Social Determinants of Health screenings
- SUD discharge planning
- Completes Preadmission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR)
- May complete post-discharge calls
- May participate in 15 minute rounding
- Assists with onboarding new and/or entry level Counselors
- May take on more complex tasks and/or projects as needed
- Successfully participates to complete BSMH and departmental specific training as required
