    The Admissions Summer Student Worker will serve as a vital part of the Admissions team by assisting with summer enrollment initiatives including Accepted Students Day (ASD) and Registration Express (Reg Express), providing campus tours, supporting admissions office operations, and connecting with prospective and incoming students. This role is ideal for students who enjoy working with people, are enthusiastic about Holyoke Community College (HCC), and want to make a difference in the student experience.


    Campus Tours & Student Engagement:

    Provide engaging and informative campus tours for prospective and incoming students.

    Assist with Cougar Connect sessions by facilitating student connection activities and discussions.

    Help lead connection sessions during Accepted Students Days (ASD)

    Outreach & Communication:

    Call students to support them in completing their enrollment checklist steps.

    Serve as a positive peer contact for students who have questions about starting at HCC.

    Event Support:Support preparation for ASD Days and Registration Express Days (e.g., materials, logistics).

    Participate in and help manage events such as Welcome Wednesdays and Together at the Table dinner.

    Provide logistical assistance and help facilitate during events, including setup, check-in, and guiding students.

    Engage in promotional activities like chalking for ASD Days.

    Office & Administrative Support:

    Assist Admissions Operations staff with office tasks such as answering phones, data entry, or assembling mailings.

    Maintain a welcoming and professional environment in the Admissions office.

    Training & Development:

    • Participate in training sessions covering campus tours, office responsibilities, effective student communication, and the general admissions process.

    REQUIRED:

    Must be a current HCC student in good standing - students graduating this spring are eligible to apply.

    Must be able to attend majority of Accepted Students Days

    Accepted Students Day:

    Thursday May 22nd, 9am-12pm

    Tuesday June 24th, 9am-12pm and 2pm-5pm

    Wednesday, July 16th 9am-12pm and 3pm-6pm

    Thursday, August 14th, 9am-12pm and 2pm-5pm

    Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    Comfortable speaking in front of groups and working with diverse populations.

    Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

  • Previous involvement in HCC programs or leadership (e.g., Cougar Connect, Peer Mentors) is a plus but not required.
  • Part-Time/Non-Benefited position

    Hourly Rate: $15/hour

    Hours: Up to 18,5 hours/week (flexible scheduling)Start Date: May 19, 2025
