Administrator of Fine Arts

Montgomery County Public Schools seeks a dynamic Administrator of Fine Arts to lead and coordinate our fine arts curriculum and events. ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Coordinate the PreK-12 fine arts program
  • Develop curricula and guides for fine arts programs throughout the division
  • Plan and implement instructional initiatives
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience with state and federal requirements, including the Virginia Standards of Learning
  • Develop strong collaborative, positive communications with community and school resources
  • Partner with central office and school administrators to strategically determine appropriate staffing needs for fine arts positions
  • Actively assist school administrators in thoroughly screening and interviewing for fine arts personnel
  • Collaborate with school and central office administrators to optimize scheduling for teachers in assigned fine arts positions
  • Design, provide, and maintain relevant, high-quality professional development programs and resource materials for all fine arts staff, promoting continuous growth and innovation
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders through outstanding written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate an ability to work with parents and staff as a team
  • Display a record of success in establishing an effective learning environment and maintaining high standards
  • Demonstrate experience or working familiarity with Google Drive for instruction, collaboration, and coursework
  • Engage in a collaborative leadership style and contribute to a positive team environment
  • Create and maintain an inclusive, supportive learning environment that respects the diverse backgrounds and needs of all students
  • Demonstrate dependability, punctuality, and reliability in fulfilling responsibilities
  • Foster positive relationships and work effectively with parents and families

  • Other duties as assigned by the superintendent
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Hold or be eligible for a Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in Administration and Supervision, PreK-12
  • Master's degree or higher in School Administration or Curriculum and Instruction from an accredited college or university
  • Have at least five years of teaching experience in the fine arts field
  • Possesses experience with curriculum development
  • Have experience organizing division fine arts events
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Three years of administrative experience

Salary: $83,487.52 - $143,319.96 annually, with benefits; commensurate with experience

FLSA: Exempt
