Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to lead, train and provide support to 1:1 assistants assigned to RICA by the contracted vendor. The position will:
assume responsibility of organizing and assigning 1:1 support staff to individual students

provide annual training, daily support, and guidance to 1:1 support staff on how to work with students with emotional disabilities

review and approve timesheets for 1:1 assistants

review invoices from vendor to check for accuracy and approve invoice and payment to vendor This position also works as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide quality education to students with special educational needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two years of experience performing administrative staff, clerical, clerical technical, or secretarial work.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year of the required experience.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess:
1. Associate's or Bachelor's degree

2. Experience working in a school or residential treatment center that serves students with emotional disabilities and/or mental health issues

3. Experience implementing individualized education plans and behavior intervention plans

4. Experience as a teacher assistant or substitute teacher

5. Experience training and leading employees in a professional setting

6. Experience reviewing and approving vendor invoices and employee timesheets

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
