In this position, you will perform administrative and clerical duties for both the Division 5 Urban Freeway and Maintenance Operations Support Team (MOST) Units located in Raleigh, Wake County. Duties include typing, data entry, copying/scanning, answering telephone and directing calls and maintaining files. You must multi-task and maintain a high degree of accuracy in a fast-paced office environment. You must have the demonstrated ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures and the ability to learn and apply data into in-house computer programs such as SAP, Ariba and spreadsheets as well as administer payroll/time entry in SAP/BSIP system. You will create requisitions and manage inventory for various supplies and materials and maintain fixed asset inventory.
Create and manage Purchase Orders, review and process invoices for project contracts and Contract Engineering and Inspection (CEI) staffing. This position will assist employees, when necessary, with questions pertaining to personnel issues. You will prepare correspondence and reports (daily/random/monthly) as needed, while meeting deadlines and must have the ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form and to work with people with courtesy and professionalism in performing public contact duties and additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Additional Expectations
You must establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public, co-workers, vendors and government officials., and additional duties as assigned by employee's supervisor. You must have the ability to work independently and prioritize daily tasks. You must perform work in accordance with NCDOT workplace and safety policy. This is an essential position for Division 5 Maintenance and Operations and will be expected to work during inclement weather and natural disasters including, but not limited to hurricanes, tropical storms, and winter storms.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
