Description The Department of Spanish and Portuguese is seeking an
Administrative Services Specialist.
The Administrative Services Specialist will collaborate with the Department administrator to provide direct support and serve as the primary contact for the department. This role involves a high degree of discretion and independent judgment, supporting daily operations, course management, and graduate program administration.
Key Responsibilities - Supports the daily planning and provides operational support for the Department of Spanish and Portuguese.
- Oversees course management in partnership with faculty leaders.
- Provides support for the Latin American Studies program, including course management and support for any special event/lecture series.
- Updates the General Catalog for all areas of the Department of Spanish and Portuguese, including the Latin American Studies Program.
- Manages and organizes all graduate admissions documents for the department's graduate programs.

Qualifications Education Required - A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a Liberal Arts discipline in hand by start date; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Qualifications - Experience of at least 1 year in office administration.
- Demonstrates experience in computer software applications, including experience with electronic processing of transactions.
- Demonstrates knowledge and ability to carry out office administration tasks effectively and efficiently in support of staff, team, and department.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge and application of oral and written communication and relationship building skills.
Desired Qualifications - Demonstrates experience in the ability to successfully manage several small projects concurrently.
- Experience working in an academic setting.
