POSITION SUMMARY: These general functions will be carried out in keeping with the Goals, Policies and Mission of the YMCA of the East Bay. Provide high-level customer service and administrative support on behalf of the branch administration, in order to promote the services and mission of the Y.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- Provide exemplary customer service to staff, program participants and members that models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
- Assist in the hiring, supervision and training of administrative staff and may provide work direction.
- Proactively process administrative tasks in a timely and accurate manner and supports the day-to-day tasks of the branch.
- Provide administrative leadership within areas of assigned specialized knowledge, including accurate documentation and recordkeeping, computer programs including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, accounting procedures for accounts receivable and cash management, etc.
- Process payments and enrollments and resolve any incomplete documentation to finalize transactions.
- Maintain files in a neat and orderly fashion in keeping with departmental procedures.
- Proactively work to reduce risk in the branch by reporting observable safety and risk situations and ensure prompt reporting of workers comp claims.
- Purchase supplies and services.
- Attend and actively participate in regular program activities, department trainings, staff meetings and special events as scheduled. Where required, take accurate minutes for dissemination and documentation.
- Support special events, fund raising, assist in other areas, and perform other duties as required.
- Capable of supporting the branch and membership department Monday through Friday, 4:30 am - 1:00 pm, with availability for weekend work as needed.

- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
QUALIFICATIONS:- High school diploma or GED
- Three years of related experience in office and/or customer service
- Excellent customer service and administrative skills
- Self-starter with excellent organizational skills
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other computer programs and office machines necessary to perform the duties of the job
