Our team is looking to hire a Research Program Coordinator. This is a tempoary assignment that in onsite in Southwest Atlanta. The ideal candiate will have a background in Higher Education.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides support for program activities and administering the program's objectives.
  • Organizes the administration of the RISE application and screening of applicants
  • Identifies available pool of faculty mentors and provides orientation and training to prepare mentors and scholars for research experience
  • Orders all equipment, office supplies and supplies needed for the RISE Program student labs and activities (including CSI Course)
  • Maintains budget for lab and office supplies
  • Assists students with developing Individualized Educational Action Plans
  • Assists student in developing research proposals and prepare students to present scholarly work at conferences
  • Assists the Assistant Director with data collection activities and manages the storage of collected data required for NIH annual reports. This will include developing and maintaining database of program participants and activities for reporting and tracking purposes (. i.e. tracking student research activity)
  • Prepares and enters data for program evaluation (i.e. tracking the number of students completing laboratory projects, attending seminars, etc.);
  • Maintains detailed documentation of program files and records.
  • Conducts lab visitations to ensure student attendance and participation meets the program's requirements;
  • Manages and monitors student research activities and progress; o Review and approve all timesheets o Assess student performance and progress to determine if the lab is a good placement; Research Program Coordinator 2/03/2020 1 o Review and assess student bi-weekly reports to ensure adequate student participation;
  • Coordinates arrangements for student travel, lodging, and registration at national and local research conferences;
  • Coordinates the logistics for program activities including annual retreats, the RISE lecture series, workshops, and recruiting visits.
  • Maintains and updates RISE website; which include depicting the scholarly activities of RISE Scholars
Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree, preferably in STEM and a minimum of three years of experience in data collection and program management or coordination required, preferably in a college/university setting. Prior experience in undergraduate research programs, mentoring undergraduate researchers, or advising preferred. Experience with event planning and management preferred.
