Job Description

The purpose of this position is to provide leadership in the management, development, implementation and evaluation of the Aviation Maintenance program.

• Provide leadership for the Aviation Maintenance program.

• Complete and maintain FAA accreditation.

• Facilitate classroom instruction, conferences and meetings.

• Develop, review and evaluate courses.

• Recruit and advise students on course programs and curriculum.

• Manage course registrations, enrollments and program budget.

• Recruit and train adjunct instructors.

• Maintain, order and organize equipment, supplies and products.

• Teach courses in Aviation Maintenance and related fields as necessary

• Develop and maintain WITCC articulation agreements.

• Use excellent communication and human relation skills.

• Use database applications to create and manage files and communicate requested information, maintaining confidentiality.

This is a full-time, grade 8, administrative position with an annual wage of $65,835. Benefits include health and dental, long-term disability and group life insurance; retirement, tuition waiver; paid vacation, sick leave and holidays.

Required Qualifications

• Certified Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) with Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) rating.

• Three (3) years' experience in Aviation Maintenance industry.

• Effective oral and written communication and human relations skills.

• Effective organizational skills, particularly as they relate to the teaching-learning process.

• Demonstrated experience in student learning and teaching excellence.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's or higher degree in Aviation Maintenance or related field

• Be a Designated Mechanic Examiner (DME) with Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) designation

• Successful teaching experience

• An understanding of the community college philosophy and the community college student.

• Experience with alternative learning delivery methods and systems.

• Commitment to cultural diversity among students, faculty, and in the curriculum.

• Experience in delivering computer-enhanced laboratory simulations.

• Computer experience in common software and Internet.
