Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 2:30pm
Compensation: $20/hour
About the job:
The primary duty of a VOA High School Administrative Professional / Program Specialist will be to oversee and manage non-academic, operational functions of Volunteers of America High School while maintaining federal, county, and city compliance. This is a temporary position with an expected duration of 12 months from the start date. Extension beyond this timeframe is not guaranteed.
Essentials:
Building Operations
- Manage existing building contracts for repeating services by scheduling work, reviewing work and maintaining ongoing communication with vendors.
- Engage new vendors when required and secure and schedule additional services as needed.
- Maintain current building licenses and training compliance for all aspects of school operations.
- Coordinate regular maintenance and manage time and budget of maintenance contractor.
- Oversee the maintenance of school vehicles by scheduling regular and as-needed maintenance and keeping licenses current.
Food and Nutrition Services
- Maintain state and federal training requirements.
- Access and manage confidential student/family income information.
- Actively partner with Minneapolis Public Schools to make sure all students have access to educational benefits.
- Utilize MN State accounting interface to ensure maximum federal reimbursement.
- Organizing and maintaining point of sale compliance, staffing and meal safe storage.
- Maintaining city health department standards and certificate requirements.
- Order, accept, account for and report on all student transportation materials received from Metro Transit via Minneapolis Public Schools.
- Process all invoices, purchase orders, visa reports, stipends, checks and vendor approvals whether regular or incidental in a timeline supplied by VOAMN finance department.
- Complete reimbursements and purchasing documents for VOA High School.
- Order and distribute office supplies, printing paper, teacher requested materials and manage budget associated with materials.

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Preferred experience in fiscal services, administration, and human resources
- 1 year of similar work experience
- Bilingual: Spanish preferred
- Ability to work with a diverse population of individuals by using tact diplomacy and flexibility
