Administrative Director of Surgical Services - Full-Time - Evenings Location: El Paso, TX
Salary: $115,502 - $173,243 per year (based on experience)
Bonus: 15% Annual Director Incentive
Sign-On Bonus & Relocation Assistance: Negotiable

Overview A 327-bed acute care hospital in El Paso, TX is seeking a highly experienced Administrative Director of Surgical Services to lead a multi-specialty perioperative team. This executive-level role is responsible for setting the strategic vision for surgical services, managing clinical operations, driving growth and quality outcomes, and serving as a liaison between surgeons and administration.

Department Profile
  • 13 ORs, including 3 dedicated neuro suites
  • Key specialties: GYN, GYN Oncology, General Surgery, Urology, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Kidney Transplant
  • Technology: 4 Da Vinci Xi systems, ION robotic bronchoscopy platform
  • Case Volume: 400-470 surgical cases per month
  • Team Structure:
    • Reports to the Chief Operating Officer (COO)
    • Oversees the Director of Surgical Services
    • Supports 90 FTEs, including CNCs for each surgical area
Responsibilities
  • Set the vision, strategy, and direction for the surgical services department
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, resource allocation, and compliance with standards
  • Drive staff development, succession planning, and engagement initiatives
  • Develop and monitor performance improvement and quality assurance programs
  • Maintain relationships with medical staff, executive leadership, and clinical teams
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and hospital policy
  • Monitor financial performance, optimize utilization, and support service line growth
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required
  • Master's degree preferred (MSN, MBA, MHA)
  • 3+ years of surgical services leadership experience in an acute care setting
  • 3+ years of total surgical services experience required
  • Active RN license in Texas (or eligible)
  • CNOR or CSSM preferred
  • Strong business acumen, leadership presence, and strategic thinking skills
