Job Description Job Description Administrative Coordinator I will assist in the day-to-day operations of the Horticultural Sciences Department. Under the supervision of the Department Head's Administrative Assistant, the Administrative Coordinator I will provide administrative and operational support for the department. The Administrative Coordinator is expected to be highly organized, proactive, and capable of exercising discretion and independent judgment on matters of significance.
Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in an applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience, plus an additional two (2) years of related experience.
Job Duties - Provide excellent customer service to students, staff, and faculty statewide.
- Support the organization of departmental outreach efforts and major event planning logistics.
- Serve as the emergency back-up for the Department Head Administrative Assistant, as needed.
- Contribute to the maintenance of the departmental website and building/department directory.
- Coordinate reservations for conference rooms, department parking spaces, and van/truck.
- Custodian of departmental vehicles - repairs, inspection/tags, mileage reporting, etc.
- Work with faculty, staff, and students by submitting AggieWorks requests.
- Manage space inventory.
- Manage departmental phones, mailboxes, and handle incoming/outgoing mail and packages.
- Maintain departmental computer labs, and address technical issues with assistance from AgriLife IT.
- Work with the centralized Business Administrator to maintain an up-to-date faculty workstation inventory.
- Serve as the SECC unit coordinator.
- Performs additional duties, as required.

- Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation applications.
