Job ResponsibilitiesThe person in this position will, under the supervision of the policy & board liaison, provide administrative support for the day to day operations of the State Board of Education (SBE), to include the preparation of the monthly agenda, meeting minutes, the regulatory calendar, and coordination with the committee admins. Responsible for coordinating with the Secretary of State's Office regarding commissions and processing of new SBE members. Provide direct support to SBE committee administrative staff. Maintain webpages for the SBE, Policy and Legislative Committee, Standards, Learning and Assessment Committee, Educator Professions Committee, Educator Licensure Committee, and Full Board Educator Licensure, as well as the following webpages: SBE, SBE's Regulations, and the SBE Rules of Governance. Provide project assistance to the board & policy liaison for new or existing programs relating to SBE and local board engagement. Work under the direction of the Director & Assistant Director of Government Affairs regarding the preparation and promulgation of SBE regulations, including coordinating with the SBE and any legislative committee. Support the policy & legal advisor on SBE policies and rules of governance. Perform other related duties as requested.
This position is located in the Office of Government Relations & Policy.
Minimum and Additional RequirementsA high school diploma and relevant experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services or a bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required work experience.
Preferred QualificationsAn associate's degree and three (3) years relevant experience in administrative services, public administration, business management, or policy- related area; or a bachelor's degree and relevant work experience.
