This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. Note: Permanent and time-limited NC State Government employees must separate from their permanent or time-limited position in order to work in a temporary position. All temporaries are limited to one NC State Government temporary assignment at a time.
Individuals hired into a temporary State job must be fully qualified for the job. This temporary position is located in Raleigh - Wake County.
Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $20.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).
This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Health and Human Services. This position is located at 430 N. Salisbury St, Raleigh, NC 27603.
This position works under the direction of the program coordinator and director of accounting to help facilitate the digitization of physical records, with a purpose of cataloging these records for record keeping for present and future use. This position will be responsible for verification of electronic formatting of physical records, scanning of physical documents, preparation of documents for scanning, reviewing scanned documents for accuracy, verification of duplicate files as needed, data entry, record retention as required, and confidential document recycling when complete. Some heavy lifting (approximately 25-40 lbs.) will be required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with Adobe Pro, Word, and Excel
  • Experience using computers, scanners, and other office equipment
  • Ability to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing with both internal and external departments
  • Interpret and apply Public Staff record retention policies
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
