This temporary position is located in Raleigh, NC - Wake County.
Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $21.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).

This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Adult Correction (DAC). This position is located at 3512 Bush St, Raleigh, NC 27609.

This position (Administrative Associate with the DAC Comprehensive Health Section) involves direct administrative and technical support to DAC Medicaid Supervisor and staff. A detailed knowledge and understanding of laws, policies, and procedures for offenders in NC DAC regarding Medicaid/Disability application process. Vast knowledge of prison office policies and procedures to communicate, organize and coordinate a variety of clerical and administrative duties necessary for effective management of the program. This position requires management of workflow pertaining to preparation of documents and spreadsheet reports, composition of letters and memos, the use of office technology, compiling records, scanning medical health information, ordering office supplies, organizing and maintaining files, posting information, using various database for maintaining updated information and mail distribution. The work dynamic involves changes in priorities, demanding flexibility and adaptability as well as familiarity with the structure and function of the NC DAC prison system.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

  • Knowledge of social work principles, techniques and practices pertaining to DPS Medicaid/Disability application process.
  • Working knowledge of program services, policies and procedures
  • Ability to demonstrate and apply this knowledge in performance of office support duties.
  • Working knowledge of data collection and storage to compile assimilate, and organize printed and electronic information
  • Ability to utilize office equipment and other technology to meet work requirements
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. At least two years of administrative experience is preferred.
