JOB TITLE: Athletic Department Administrative Assistant

CLASSIFICATION: Staff/Hourly/Full-Time

REPORTS TO: Athletic Director

Summary

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for organizing the people and daily activities associated with the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics; coordinates the activities of the Athletics Director; works directly with head coaches, assistant coaches, and athletic trainers; manages ticket sales; keeps accounting of Athletics Department budget.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manages day-to-day operations of the Athletics Department.
  • Maintains budget for department.
  • Processes all department invoices in the business and finance accounting system.
  • Works directly with the Sports Information Director & Assistant Athletic Director for organizing select home athletic events.
  • Processes new and existing employees.
  • Assist and coordinate student workers assigned to the department.
  • Maintain calendar and trips for Athletic Director.
Qualifications
  • Excellent organizational skills and work ethic; ability for multi-tasking and prioritizing.
  • Ability to make quality decisions and maintain positive rapport with others.
  • Good computer skills and willingness to stay current on updated software, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Documents.
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping is essential.
Experience
  • Five years of applicable work experience preferred.
