SUMMARY: The CAPABLE Administrative Assistant will provide support to the Program Manager and Capable Staff, assisting in daily office needs and managing general administrative activities. CAPABLE is a home-based program to address functional opportunities and promote independence and tenure in the community with older adults. The Administrative Assistant is responsible for answering and directing phone calls, organizing and scheduling appointments, submitting and reconciling expense reports, ordering office supplies and developing and maintaining filing system.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: High School graduate or equivalent with at least three years of experience in general office work. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Maintains excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to successfully interact with staff, patients, families, physicians and the public. Preferred Qualifications: bachelor's degree in related field.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Position requires excellent concentration, reading and typing on a computer. May be required to lift up to 30 lbs. Position does not require any heavy lifting or physical effort. Administrative Assistant position requires the ability to sit for long periods of time while answering incoming calls.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: A part-time position works a 20-hour work week. This position works a general office schedule, Monday - Friday, between the hours of 8:00am -5:00pm (work schedule will be developed with Program Manager). Position carries a risk of exposure to infectious diseases requiring standard safety precautions while in patient care areas. This position may require a personal vehicle to transport DME equipment to staff in the community. This position also requires you to be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
