Summary: Founded by legendary aircraft designer Burt Rutan, Scaled Composites is a 42-year-old aerospace company continually working to push boundaries, prove out ideas, and influence the future. We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented
Administrative Assistant to become a key player on our dynamic team. In this role, you'll work closely with our Communications Specialist and leadership team, supporting a variety of exciting administrative and project-based tasks that keep our innovative operations running smoothly. You'll report to the Administrative Manager, while working closely with the Communications Specialist for daily tasks and contributing to leadership initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: - Supporting the Communications Specialist with Communications functions (i.e. social media, media capture, newsletter generation, message drafting, etc)
- Responsible POC for managing tours and visitors, as required.
- Managing the Company Store (i.e. sales, inventory, restock)
- Supporting Special Projects for members of Leadership.
- Supporting Company Documentation projects for members of Leadership.
- Back support for various roles (i.e. Engineering Admin, Travel Coordinator, etc.)
- General office support, including, but not limited to, making copies, sending faxes, scanning, coordinate internal and external meetings, facilitate maintenance and IT requests, proofread and format documents, prepare slides for presentations, etc.
Required Qualifications: - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, knowledge of grammar and punctuation rules, and attention to detail when proofreading.
- Strong problem solving, organizational skills, and ownership of assigned projects & tasks.
- Basic proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Task and Goal oriented, self-starter.
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to exercise good judgment with minimal oversight.
- Must be able to work well with a wide variety of personalities across all departments.
- Ability to prioritize a high volume of tasking and operate in a "fire and forget" atmosphere.
- Proactively completes assigned tasking, including on-the-fly problem solving and issues that require critical thought.
- Demonstrated capability organizing a complex schedule and varied priorities.
Desired Qualifications: - Minimum of a high school diploma/GED with additional education or certification, preferred.
- Experience working in a matrix reporting environment with a fast-paced workflow.
- Familiarity with social media tools, website content management systems, SharePoint, and wiki tools such as Confluence.
- Familiarity with the Adobe Create Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, or AfterEffects).
Essential Functions: - Requires mobility and the ability to bend and reach.
- May infrequently require lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Manual dexterity and coordination are required; repetitive hand motion (e.g., to operate computer keyboard).
- Vision at close distances and the ability to adjust focus for prolonged periods (i.e., computer screen).
- Ability to remain sedentary or stationary for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to write for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work in an office setting for prolonged periods of time.
- May be asked to carry up to 20 lbs. up and down a flight of stairs on a regular basis such as files, books, office equipment, etc.
- Occasional reaching overhead and lifting up to 15 pound.
- Ability to converse and communicate information with others.
- Occasional exposure to chemical vapors and/or fumes in low non-hazardous concentration.
- Potential to climb up and down steps on a daily basis.
- Must be able to read and understand SDS.
