Description

POSITION: Administrative Assistant

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Administrative Assistant will report directly to the Child Development Site Supervisor. The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for recruitment of families, providing information to families on center services, scheduling and enrollment of families and providing tours of the Child Development Center to families. The Administrative Assistant will perform general office duties which include answering phones, typing and distribution of notices to families. The Administrative Assistant will maintain licensing files, food program applications, preschool applications and the Department of Social Services Community Care Licensing Division Enrollment Forms. The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for tracking children's daily attendance and will assist the Site Supervisor in tracking food program and enrollment data for monthly funding reports. Participates in community outreach activities as necessary to maintain appropriate children enrollment. May perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS: The Administrative Assistant position requires an individual with a professional, pleasant and effective representation of the Child Development Center and organization. Must have strong customer skills and the ability to interact with program families, children, visitors, staff, collaborators, business professionals and management. Must have an understanding of services provided at the center and must be able to communicate that information via telephone or in person. Must have typing and computer skills.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must possess a dependable automobile with insurance and a valid California Driver's license. Must submit to and pass a urinalysis test, health screening report and a criminal background clearance as a pre-condition for employment. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Must be able to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination and booster, TDAP, MMR, Influenza (Flu) & a recent TB Test/Chest X-rays.

QUALIFICATIONS: Associate Arts Degree or Three years experience working in clerical/reception with public/private sector, a minimum of 6 units in Early Childhood Education.
